   A connective ending used when the preceding statement is the purpose, result, method, amount, etc., of something mentioned in the following statement.

   앞말이 뒤에서 가리키는 일의 목적이나 결과, 방식, 정도 등이 됨을 나타내는 연결 어미.

   ※ ‘게는’, ‘게도’, ‘게까지’로도 쓴다.

Examples

• 자신이 할 일은 스스로 하게 놔 두자.

  Let's leave it so he does his own work himself.

• 밝게 웃는 지수를 보니 내 기분도 좋다.

  Seeing Jisu laughing brightly puts me in a good mood too.

• 나는 방이 더러운 것 같아 깨끗하게 청소를 했다.

  I thought my room seemed dirty, so I cleaned it thoroughly.

• 나는 요새 이상하게 밤이 되어도 잠을 잘 못 잔다.

  These days, strangely, I can't sleep well even at night.

• 아침부터 비가 와서 걱정했는데 유원지에 도착할 때는 다행스럽게도 비가 그쳤다.

  It had been raining since morning so I was worried, but luckily the rain stopped by the time we got to the amusement park.

• 라디오 볼륨 좀 크게 해 놓지 마. 시끄러웠어? 미안해.

  Don't leave the radio turned up so loud. Was it too loud? Sorry.
