-을 정도이다

is to the extent that ~

Attaches to a verb stem, similar to -을 정도로 but ending the sentence, to describe how extreme a situation is by giving a comparable extreme example as the predicate.

Examples

  • 요즘 너무 바빠서 밥 먹을 시간도 없을 정도이다.

    I've been so busy lately that I don't even have time to eat.

  • 그 가수의 인기는 전 세계에 알려질 정도이다.

    That singer's popularity is such that it is known worldwide.

  • 아이의 방은 발 디딜 틈이 없을 정도였다.

    The child's room was so messy there was no place to step.
