   An expression used to indicate that one either knows or does not know a certain fact or state.

   어떤 사실이나 상태에 대해 알고 있거나 모르고 있음을 나타내는 표현.

   ※ ‘있다’, ‘없다’, ‘계시다’나 ‘있다’, ‘없다’로 끝나는 형용사, 동사 또는 '-으시-' 뒤에 붙여 쓰고, 주로 '-ㄴ 줄 알다', '-ㄴ 줄 모르다'로 쓴다.

• 나는 승규가 그렇게 똑똑한 줄 몰랐는데 오늘 발표를 보고 알았어.

  I didn't know Seunggyu was that smart, but I found out after seeing his presentation today.

• 여행을 간 줄 알았던 승규가 갑자기 나타나서 사람들이 놀랐다.

  People were surprised when Seunggyu, who they thought had gone on a trip, suddenly showed up.

• 옆집 남자가 범인인 줄 꿈에도 생각을 못했다.

  I never once imagined that the man next door was the culprit.

• 가방에 책을 잘 챙겨 넣은 줄 알았는데 빠뜨렸어요.

  I thought I had packed the book in my bag properly, but I left it out.

• 길이 굽은 줄 모르고 빠른 속도로 가다가 사고가 날 뻔했네요.

  Not realizing the road curved, I was driving fast and almost got into an accident.

• 요즘 경제가 어렵다고는 하지만 취업 박람회를 찾는 사람이 이렇게 많은 줄 몰랐어요.

  They say the economy is tough these days, but I had no idea this many people would come to the job fair.
