as I kept ~ing, (I realized)

Attaches to a verb stem to show that repeating or continuing an action led naturally to a new realization or result the subject did not originally intend.

Examples

  • 매일 걷다 보니 어느새 살이 빠졌어요.

    As I kept walking every day, I lost weight before I knew it.

  • 혼자 살다 보니 요리 실력이 많이 늘었다.

    As I kept living alone, my cooking skills improved a lot.
