if one keeps ~ing

Attaches to a verb stem to state that if an action is repeated or continued, a certain result will naturally follow; expresses a general truth or encouragement about the future.

Examples

  • 꾸준히 연습하다 보면 실력이 늘 거예요.

    If you keep practicing steadily, your skills will improve.

  • 자꾸 넘어지다 보면 요령이 생긴다.

    If you keep falling down, you'll eventually get the hang of it.

  • 살다 보면 힘든 일도 있고 좋은 일도 있어요.

    As you go through life, there are both hard times and good times.
